Jesus Saying On the Cross
No one on earth can relate to the suffering Christ endured as He pleaded with His Father to “Let this cup pass from me”
Jesus was not looking forward to the pain, agony, torture, but He knew it was necessary to pay the price for humanities salvation.
The Word of Forgiveness: Luke 23:34 “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.
From the time of His birth no man has ever had as much reason to be bitter than Jesus.
There was no room in the Inn.
Herod tried to kill him.
He has to live in a land of bondage, Egypt.
The Word of Salvation: Luke 23:42 “And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, variedly I say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
In this statement we see the universal love of God. Jesus cared for an individual as well as the crowd.
The Word of Affection: John 19:26-27 “When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.”
Even in His greatest moment of agony Jesus cared for His mother.
The Word of Anguish: Matthew 27:46 “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”
It there any greater emptiness or loniness known to man than to believe even God has left you?
The Word of Suffering: John 19:28 “After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.”
The statement shows the human side of Jesus.
The Word of Victory: John 19:30 “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”
Jesus suffering, agony and pain was finished. The price for sin was paid
The Word of Contentment: John 19:30 “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”
These last words Jesus spoke were words of love, faith, confidence, and contentment.
A Passion for Christ,
